We had the pleasure of being entertained by the Dixie Beats on 2nd September at Eagley Jazz Club, and I have to say, I've never seen the Club so lively and animated!  What an amazing, high energy performance by this local band who just get better with each visit.  Also, it's brilliant to see young musicians playing Jazz!   I filmed their finale for our facebook page which you can view. - Ann Lord

"The Dixie Beats (and before them the Bourbon Street Roof Raisers) are always entertaining and for that reason they are frequently invited back to play at our Glossop club. They provide a wide range of jazz music from every era of the twentieth century. We are so fortunate to have such a superb band in the North-West".

"It was a pleasure to see the audience converting before my eyes as they stormed through a fabulous set of jazz classics!! … Tremendous musicianship from each and every band member all played with a big smile on their face, which was contagiously passed on to the watching crowd."
Graham Pickwick - Compere Dobbies Sports and Social Club, Bolton

"Hugely entertaining. We are always impressed by their style, quality and enthusiasm."

"Blistering jazz from larger-than-life John Percival and the Dixie Beats. Catch them at a club near you."

THANK YOU on behalf of myself and the Glossop Jazz Club for the wonderful evening of entertainment on Thursday. You spoilt us. Well done.

Kind regards,

David

July heralded 'happy jazz' and the Jazz On A Sunday debut of a newish combo The Dixie Beats. Bolton-based and an offshoot of the better-known Bourbon Street Roof Raisers they were led on trumpet by one time brass bandsman John Percival and arrived with the declared intention of making jazz fun. This they did - in spades.
